A Moment In Wine Show 413 – 2017 Rumpus Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon
Today in a Moment in Wine we are traveling to California again to taste the 2017 Rumpus Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine is a blend of various grapes that winemaker Scott Peterson has hand-picked throughout the state of California.
In the glass, there’s a beautiful, opaque garnet color with a purple haze coating. In the nose, there’s a ripe, plummy, spicy aroma filling the room with cinnamon and anise, spicy smells.
Soft, but big taste with soft tannins mid-palette and a finish that’s velvety -smooth. This is a fun, easy drinking wine that will pair great with a steak on the grill or even hamburgers.
About Fred Tregaskis & Summit Wine Cellars
Fred Tregaskis first developed a passion for wine during his art school years, when he worked in the New York’s Hudson Valley vineyards. Years later, after working for a national wine magazine, he was given the opportunity to design and build a 28,000-bottle cellar for Lespinasse Restaurant at the St. Regis Hotel in New York—and in the process Summit Wine Cellars took root.
Tregaskis and Summit Wine Cellars have created dramatic custom wine cellars for clients throughout the world, from Maine to California, and Bangalore to Buenos Aries.
Tregaskis also writes about wine, conducts tastings and hosts a radio show on wine for NPR station WHDD/Robin Hood Radio based in Sharon Conn.
