A Moment In Wine Show 416 – Out East Rosé Côtes de Provence 2018
Today we are travelling to one of the most beautiful places on the planet, Provence, France.
We’re tasting Out East Rose Côtes de Provence 2018. Named “Out East” which is the vernacular for the Hamptons in New York, to denote the relaxed luxury and stylish lifestyle popular in getaway destinations. The Rosé is a blend of Grenache & Cinsault grapes with a very pale pink and peach color in the glass.
The aroma is wonderful and complex with white roses, peaches and citrus zest. There is a big mouth feel with this wine. The taste is dry, crisp with minerals such as from the limestone and clay earth of the vineyard. The finish is one of baking spices and citrus.
This is a terrific summer wine and will pair nicely with cold summer salads such as a cold salmon salad or a salad nicoise.
About Fred Tregaskis & Summit Wine Cellars
Fred Tregaskis first developed a passion for wine during his art school years, when he worked in the New York’s Hudson Valley vineyards. Years later, after working for a national wine magazine, he was given the opportunity to design and build a 28,000-bottle cellar for Lespinasse Restaurant at the St. Regis Hotel in New York—and in the process Summit Wine Cellars took root.
Tregaskis and Summit Wine Cellars have created dramatic custom wine cellars for clients throughout the world, from Maine to California, and Bangalore to Buenos Aries.
Tregaskis also writes about wine, conducts tastings and hosts a radio show on wine for NPR station WHDD/Robin Hood Radio based in Sharon Conn.
