A-Moment-In-Wine-Show-427-Windswept-Cabernet-Sauvignon-Columbia-Valley
Today we are travelling to an area that is fast becoming famous for its wine, Columbia Valley in Washington State. Columbia Valley is one of the very largest wine regions in the United States. This area gets over 300 sunny days per year and about 6 to 8 inches of rain.
We are tasting the 2016 Windswept Cabernet Sauvignon from Columbia Valley, Washington.
In the glass, the color is a dark, garnet color. On the nose, there’s a full aroma of herbs, spices and cedar. The taste is of fresh cherries and cinnamon with a velvety finish and fresh tart apples.
This is a bold, fruit forward wine and will go well with grilled pork chop.
About Fred Tregaskis & Summit Wine Cellars
Fred Tregaskis first developed a passion for wine during his art school years, when he worked in the New York’s Hudson Valley vineyards. Years later, after working for a national wine magazine, he was given the opportunity to design and build a 28,000-bottle cellar for Lespinasse Restaurant at the St. Regis Hotel in New York—and in the process Summit Wine Cellars took root.
Tregaskis and Summit Wine Cellars have created dramatic custom wine cellars for clients throughout the world, from Maine to California, and Bangalore to Buenos Aries.
Tregaskis also writes about wine, conducts tastings and hosts a radio show on wine for NPR station WHDD/Robin Hood Radio based in Sharon Conn.
